Microsoft is inviting online shoppers to think of Bing as their own personal stimulus package. The reference to the global economic crisis is the company's way of attempting to convince consumers to shop for more products by offering financial incentives. For the 2009 back to school shopping season, the Redmond company is offering, in collaboration with select online shops, cashback rewards that can be as high as half of the full price of products found and bought via Bing/Bing Shopping/Bing Cashback.

“We always have great deals on Bing Shopping for you, and now, for a limited time, we are making them even better! Starting today, you’ll be able to find cashback rewards as high as 50% from select merchants for this back to school shopping season. Think of this as a Bing stimulus package,” revealed Raju Malhotra, director of product management, Bing.

Bing Cashback, having managed to kill off Live Search Cashback, continues on the same path as its precursor, albeit with a tad more success, according to Microsoft. Customers who find products via Bing and buy them online through Bing Cashback are eligible to receiving cashback rewards for their purchases. The latest round of Bing Cashback special offerings debuted, as initially announced, on August 10, 2009, and will be limited to the back to school shopping season.

“With all of these increased savings, Bing cashback gets you even more cashback than before! Now is a great time to buy that laptop and MP3 player you have always wanted or your bags, clothes or other items you may need for the new school year. To take advantage of these deals, simply search for what you are looking for at Bing. The cashback rates that you see already include any increases – what you see is what you get,” Malhotra added.
