With Windows Phone 7 announced as released to manufacturing, all that remains to be seen is when the first handsets to run under it would make it to shelves but, until that would happen, a quick look at some of the platform's features is always welcomed. We already had the chance to learn various details on Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system, and now we can have a glimpse at what the Bing Maps application has to offer on the platform.

The guys over at Pocketnow grabbed a Windows Phone 7 test device and videoed the manner in which the platform goes along with the Bing Maps software solution, something that you can look at in the video below.

All seems to be working pretty nicely, and users should be able to find their way around easily when working with Bing Maps.

Moreover, the solution comes with a quite responsive interface, and with appealing features included in the package, it seems.

Among what was demoed on video, we can count the application's menus, the manner in which one can search for places, as well as the way in which it offers directions, or how it helps users find a location.

Bing Maps on Windows Phone 7 also offers access to reviews on various places. All in all, it seems that all the features included in other similar apps are present here too.

However, there is one feature that other solutions might not include, namely the possibility to pin a location to the phone's Start screen. The video below should offer more info on what the software solution is all about.

While Windows Phone 7 comes with exclusive support for Bing, the Bing Maps application is not exclusively available for Microsoft's platform.

Recently, the Redmond-based company announced the availability of a Bing App for Android handset on Verizon Wireless' airwaves, and was said to plan releasing it for more Android-based devices in the near future.
