After introduction, Microsoft promised that its search/decision engine would continually evolve, and the two new features introduced to the successor of Live Search this month alone are illustrative examples in this regard. The past week, Bing grew with the addition of recipes from top culinary websites, and this week, the evolution of the decision engine means that it now includes investor data for users that monitor closely or need to keep a closer eye to the stock market. Specifically, the Redmond company introduced the Stocks and Funds pages, a new feature designed to centralize information on United States companies for investor.

“To see the stocks and funds you are interested in simply enter a ticker in the search box e.g MSFT. Note our "Instant Answer" on top which provides basic data about the firm. If you click on the "Investor Data" tab on the left you go into our finance page,” revealed Theo Vachovsky, Bing product manager.

Vachovsky cited the need for investors to be able easily access information on US companies right in the search engine, especially in light of the economic crisis that swapped the world. The Stocks and Funds pages centralizes financial data for a specific company, along with news updates, analyst recommendations, and key statistics, almost in real time. The promise from the software giant is that the "stock and funds pages" provides coverage for most US stocks and funds.

“The finance page gives you detailed information about key finance metrics of the firm. It also shows an easy to digest summary of the main analyst covering the stock. A personal favorite of mine are the lists on the left, which allow you to easily navigate to similar stocks or other leading stocks in the industry,” Vachovsky added.

The Bing Stocks and Funds pages are however not designed to be used as a source of predictions for the evolution of the stock market, Vachovsky emphasized. The new feature merely provides investors with the information and tools which might prove critical in relation to the right moment to determine whether to buy or sell stock. “This is just the first release of the Stocks and Funds pages, we will continue to add new information and functionality,” Vachovsky said.
