Users turning to Bing to search for a specific image will be able to enjoy an improved experience, as Microsoft delivered its most recent feature update to the search / decision engine. Essentially, the latest Bing refresh is designed to kick up a notch image search, offering a new landing page as well as additional filtering capabilities to make it easier to narrow down searches.

First off, simply visiting the Bing image search page will deliver a new search experience.

“The landing page assembles the top images in full fidelity so you can get a quick snap-shot of some of the most popular image searches on Bing,” revealed Troy Ma and Jamil Valliani, Bing Image Search.

There are additional enhancements such as streamlining access to additional queries for users.

This enables users to easily see other image searches related to a specific query, as well as get to results that might present more relevance to them.

“Once you click through to the “images” page you will notice that we’ve populated the tabs with the most common search queries associated with a given image.

“With one simple click, you can narrow down the images to find just what you’re looking for or be inspired to discover more,” Valliani added.

The new Bing Image Search improvements are just the latest in a series of feature updates that the software giant has been introducing.

Microsoft has certainly set a fast evolutionary pace for its decision engine which now also serves as the search engine for Yahoo.

“Whether it’s introducing completely new ways to browse pictures with things like image collage or helping you filter images by color and composition, delivering a more intuitive and visual image search experience is a critical focus area for us,” Valliani said.
