Microsoft has announced the release of Bing 3.0 for iOS, a brand new decision engine “designed to work beautifully on your iPhone.”“Whatever you're looking for, Bing can find it and help you get there—down the street, the other side of the world, or somewhere in between—Bing has the answer. Tell Bing what you are looking for with voice-activated search, even addresses, when you need to be hands-free,” says the company behind the Windows operating system.
Microsoft’s decision to choose HTML5 to code Bing 3.0 left Windows Phone 7 in the cold. The app is currently only available on iOS and Android devices.
The flagship feature is the dynamic synchronization of lists, such as business listings and directions and a map, in a single view.
This way users can easily see the location of what they’re searching for and it also works great for driving directions and transit, says Microsoft.
Version 3.0 lets you find daily deals, including the best offers from Groupon, Living Social, and Restaurant.com and lots more. Or you can check out the news.
Video Domain, which m.bing users have been enjoying since October, is now available on iPhone. Bing iOS lets you “watch your favorite sports videos, or see the latest viral video everyone is talking about.” Other cool features include:
- See which search results your Facebook friends have liked
- Use venue maps to get in and out faster so you can maximize your time and minimize frustration
- Bing Vision is more intuitive and easier to use
- Settings are streamlined and easier to findMicrosoft
promises a compatible version for loyal fans wielding a RIM or Windows Phone 7 device “in the future”. Bing 3.0 is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
