Pangea Software has released Billy Frontier, an action game for owners of an iPhone or iPod touch under firmware 2.0 (or greater). The game revolves around a space cowboy on a mission of ridding the galaxy of all alien outlaws. Four game modes (Dueling, Shootout, Stampede, and Target Practice) should ensure quite an addictive gameplay experience.

“Billy Frontier is a space cowboy who’s [sic] mission is to rid the galaxy of alien outlaws,” says Pangea Software. “This is the most diverse 3D game you’ll find for the Apple iPhone / iPod Touch - it is a combination of adventure game and arcade game with a whole lot of blood spewing action in-between! You’ll test your reflexes in Duels, see if you can outrun a stampeding herd of Kanga-Cows (half kangaroo, half cow), hunt down alien bandits in gun battles, and blast catapulted critters out of the sky in the Shooting Gallery!"

"Those of you who are familiar with the original Mac version of Billy Frontier will be happy to know that we've actually changed the gameplay for the iPhone version and added some new features to the game, making the iPhone version the best version yet,” Pangea adds on its website.

The company also notes on the iTunes App Store page of its app that Billy might sometimes crash, advising users to simply reboot their device, should this happen. Now, this doesn't mean Billy is prone to crashing. In fact, Pangea points out that holding down the power and home buttons to fix an eventual crash goes for any app you might have stored in your iPhone's memory.

Billy frontier is currently available in English only and, just like every app on the iTunes App Store, it requires a device running OS 2.0 or later. The currently available version of the iPhone software is V. 2.0.2. You can grab Billy Frontier here.
