A billboard showing a US soldier married to a Muslim woman is raising outrage in Los Angeles. The ad has been installed on Sunset Boulevard.

The controversial billboard aims to promote SnoreStop, a company providing services to help you stop snoring.

The tagline is “keeping you together,” and the photo of the couple is meant to show that a lack of snoring helps your couple life.

Jamie Sutton and his wife, Aleah, served as the inspiration for the ad. U.S. soldier Paul Evans and his Muslim girlfriend pose in the ad.

The company explains that they are using models which you wouldn't usually find paired up in commercials, including several gay couples.

“It’s ironic, because so many couples have gone through so many struggles just to be together. And something like snoring keeps them apart on a nightly basis,” Melody Devemark, VP of Communications for SnoreStop, tells Fox 5.
