Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has decided to invest another $20 million (€15 million) in Schrodinger LLC, a company that makes software aimed at pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Gates initially invested $10 million (€7.5 million) in 2010, but following the impressive growth recorded by the company, the famous Microsoft co-founder has decided to inject more money in the software maker.
“The success we’ve seen in our collaborations demonstrates that our computational approach can play a driving role in drug discovery,” Schrödinger President Dr. Ramy Farid said in a news release.
“With this infusion of capital, we will be able to continue our rapid scientific progress and develop a comprehensive, enterprise-level collaboration platform that delivers Schrödinger’s powerful science to all members of a research organization.”
Schrodinger currently has offices in several locations in the United States, but also in Europe, India and Japan.
