British entertainment retail chain HMV Group has officially stepped into administration this morning, with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited in charge of the process, but fans around the world are asking billionaires to step in and help save the company.

Theo Paphitis, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Bill Gates have all been asked by Twitter users to donate money to the entertainment firm and thus support its recovery.

Even though Gates is yet to reply to this request, it’s highly unlikely to see the Microsoft founder getting involved in rescuing HMV, as he prefers to focus on his charity work around the world.

What’s more, Bill Gates has also decided to stay away from Microsoft’s business as much as possible, even though the Redmond-based software firm brought him another $7 billion (€5.3 billion) last year.
