A detective with the NYPD has been arrested in the motorcycle assault on a driver last week. The cop was undercover but took an active part in the beating.

32-year old Wojciech Braszczok has been on the force for the last 10 years and he has previously worked in the narcotics division.

He is accused of helping pull victim Alexian Lien out of his Range Rover and attacking him afterwards.

A police source previously stated that the undercover cop involved in the SUV attack was just trying not to blow his cover.

Braszczok now faces riot and criminal mischief charges. He apparently broke the car's rear hatchback window to get to Lien. He had originally told law enforcement about driving away and not being involved in the attack.

He also failed to report the incident right away, waiting until last Wednesday to come forward. When police got ahold of a video of the incident featuring Braszczok they filed for an arrest.

WABC adds that officials have also charged a fifth biker in the case. 32-year-old Clint Caldwell of Brooklyn has been booked for gang assault, assault, and criminal mischief.

An investigation revealed that at least three officers and a detective were part of the motorcycle gang on the day of the attack.

One of the officers was "in the way back" of the pack and there was no information about the level of involvement of the other two officers.

The second detective has joined the gang on the day of the beating. However, he was not present during the incident, having distanced himself beforehand.

He was on modified duty after assaulting another policeman who was responding to an August domestic call. "He shoved him in his chest several times in a forceful manner," the report states.
