Staring into the abyss, while on a bike and preparing to take a large, possibly life threatening jump, must have been very intimidating for one extreme biker.

However, he has released helmet cam footage and anyone watching the video above can experience what he must have been feeling.

The video attached to this news blog has been captured with a GoPro camera, and it features biker Kelly McGarry.

He performs a jump and backflip over a 72-foot (22-meter) long canyon gap. The stunt has been acted out at the Red Bull Rampage 2013 competition held on the Oakley Icon Sender in Utah.

McGarry came in second, and another amazing cyclist took the third place. Cam Zink pulled off the longest freeride mountain bike backflip ever recorded.
