In the video posted above, a biker is making his way down a highway when he collides with a black bear.

The footage was shot on a helmet-cam, the CBC documents. The incident took place on a highway near Vancouver in Canada.

The motorcyclist accelerates at a fast pace and he is definitely speeding when he comes across the bear.

The police estimated that he had reached the speed of 85 mph (137 kph) in about 20 seconds. He incurred serious wounds and is now hospitalized.

"While motorists don't often need to avoid bears, every day drivers may need to react to events such as dogs running out suddenly in front of their vehicle, or a cyclist swerving to avoid something, or even a child running out of a driveway," says Cpl. Robert McDonald of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
