14 DAY TRIAL // The next big patch for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One is now in the final stages of testing, meaning that developer 343 Industries will soon be able to share an exact launch date for the long-awaited update, which is set to overhaul matchmaking and drastically improve the party and invite system.
The millions of Halo fans from all around the world were very excited last November, when Microsoft and 343 Industries launched Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which combined the main entries in the series in a whole remastered package for the Xbox One.
Unfortunately, the game's multiplayer mode was filled with all sorts of glitches and issues, causing lengthy matchmaking times, errors with the invite system, and general crashes of the whole game.
The next major update is now in testing
Developer 343 Industries tried to rectify this with an array of updates but problems persist. Right now, the studio is working on its biggest patch yet, which is set to actually fundamentally change the stability of the game, its matchmaking system, as well as the way the party and invite mechanics work.
According to the latest post on the official blog, 343 Industries is currently testing out and eliminating any possible bugs from the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collect patch.
No date is known just yet
Unfortunately, given its sheer size and complexity, it's no easy task, and right now, 343 Industries can't offer an actual release date for the upcoming update.
Even so, the studio emphasizes that it's making good progress and that a release date announcement should appear soon enough.
"We’re happy with the progress on the next [update], with significant progress being made on big and small issues, and we’re being diligent in gameplay and stress testing to ensure that it is a meaningful update. While we haven’t yet locked an exact release date of this CU, the work is in its final stages of testing and bug squashing is well underway. The next time we communicate regarding the status of the upcoming CU, we will provide a definitive timeframe for its availability," it revealed.
As such, expect to see the long-awaited patch for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One soon enough.
