Is bigger better?

Looks like Nintendo is not resting after the Wii's release, and if we are to believe the latest gaming rumors (most of them turned out to be true) the Japanese company is planning another Nintendo DS update.

This rumor started when Jeux-France reported that the DS is in line for another update, sometime in 2007. This update deals with the size of the screen. As you already know, the current Nintendo DS benefits from a three inches screen, but Nintendo plans to jump to 3.5, even 3.8 inches. If this turns out to be true, it would really be something.

So far, there are three versions of the Nintendo DS, and some might say that a fourth one would be enough. From its 2004-2005 release, the Nintendo DS handheld console managed to sell over 26 million units so far, 11 million of those in Japan. The predecessor of the DS is the Game Boy Advance SP, which also registered a large success, but its successor the DS Lite is catching up.

The top selling game for the Nintendo DS is Nintendodogs, with other memorable titles like Bomberman, Bionicle Heroes, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Break'em All, Eragon and all the Pokemon games.
