Big Final Fantasy XIII Announcement Coming on September 1

Video game publisher Square Enix has announced that it will be holding a three day Final Fantasy 25 year anniversary event at the beginning of September, which will include at least one important announcement linked to the future of Final Fantasy XIII.

It’s not clear whether the company is referring directly to the Final Fantasy XIII title, which might get more downloadable content or even a XIII-3 expansion at some point, according to website registrations.

Square Enix might also be getting ready to deliver more information on the long delayed and much awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which was also set to be part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe and is supposed to deliver an experience focused more on action.

The announcement could also be linked to how the publisher plans to make the transition between the current generation of Japanese role playing game and the next one, which will probably bear the XV name.
