Two male contestants have just been evicted from the Big Brother house after allegedly sexually assaulting a fellow housemate. Controversies around the famous reality show have surrounded the Australian version for some time now, after some scenes were cut and banned for containing too much nudity.
On the Sunday broadcast, one of the women in the house was shown tearfully telling a friend that two of the male contestants came into her room at night, one held her by the arms, while the other rubbed his penis all over her face. However no footage of the incident was aired. But, as always, it did surface on the Internet.
The girl went to the police but refused to file a complaint against the assailants. There is an investigation under way and the two men might face possible jail time if found guilty of the alleged crime. They were also canned from the show, not because their behavior was so outrageous, but because 'they broke the rules of housemate conduct'.
The Australian Prime Minister asked Channel 10 to get the program off the air, stating that it has reached, quote, 'a new low' in its desperate quest for audience rating. The producers responded today and stood by their show, saying that Big Brother is a show with growing popularity and it will be, under no means, pulled off the air.
