14 DAY TRIAL // For many weeks now, we’ve been hearing countless rumors on the state of Beyonce and Jay Z’s marriage and how they were just about done and would be filing for divorce as soon as their joint tour On the Run was over. None of that is true, according to Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles.
Paparazzi from TMZ caught up with Tina as she was leaving gym the other day and, as you can see in the video below, they asked her directly about the divorce rumors and whether there was any truth to them.
First of all, she finds it amusing that the paparazzo tells her he’s “giving her the opportunity” to set the record straight but she does it either way: she seems to scoff at the suggestion that there’s any trouble at home between her daughter and her son-in-law, and even says that they’re more than good: they’re “perfect.”
This should be enough to make the rumors stop once and for all, but as it happens, it’s not. Even if there was marital trouble, Tina would probably never admit it to the media, let alone to a paparazzo who accosted her on the street, on her way out of the gym.
When there’s this kind of money and fame involved as in the case of these 2 superstars, a divorce announcement has to be planned well in advance and every step of the process handled by the book. Doing the best PR possible is essential.
That’s not to say that Beyonce and Jay Z really are one foot out of the door on their marriage, but it does mean that Tina’s denial really doesn’t carry that much weight.
In showbiz, there’s rarely smoke without a fire, and in the case of these two, there’s been a lot of smoke for weeks now. It all started with the leak of a surveillance video showing Solange beating up Jay Z while Beyonce looked on (see the second video embedded below), which further fueled cheating rumors.
The most recent one claims that the divorce is “done” and that they’re just waiting to do the final shows in Europe next month to announce it. Apparently, Gwyneth Paltrow has been teaching Beyonce the “art” of conscious uncoupling, i.e. she’s giving her tips on how to keep the split as amicable as possible and thus steer clear of a media scandal.
It is said that Jay Z has been cheating on Beyonce with randoms for years, while she’s been sleeping with her longtime bodyguard. They always had an open marriage of some sorts, but he crossed the line with that and she’s done, she wants out.
