To anyone who called the Beyonce and Jay Z divorce rumors a scam, congratulations, you were correct! At least according to some new claims made by none other than Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, who basically revealed that the entire thing was a “Jedi mind trick” aimed at boosting concert ticket sales.

The explosive claims, which prove to us that the entire scandal was nothing more than a PR stunt, were made on the Roula & Ryan radio show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston. Knowles is in the best position to make these claims since he used to be Beyonce's manager for a long time and thus is well aware of her business methods.

Moreover, Beyonce's father claims that this is not the first time they've resorted to this trick, “I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”

The radio hosts were incredulous at first and asked Knowles if even the elevator fight was staged. Beyonce's father refused to give a straight-up answer and simply added that “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”

Some people might argue that because he's been out of Beyonce's career for some time, he hasn't been up to speed with recent developments, but Mathew revealed that “We still talk every Sunday. She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been.”

While we let that recent discovery marinate in the back of our heads, it's time to look back at this huge scandal that managed to divide celebrity watchers into two camps: those who believed that the split was real and those who thought it was just a PR stunt.

The first sign of trouble was when insider reports confirmed that concert ticket sales for the On The Run tour Beyonce and Jay Z had set up were less than favorable, with only half the tickets or even less being sold at different venues around the country.

It wasn't long until Beyonce and Jay Z then did something unimaginable: they launched the rumor that their picture-perfect marriage and family were only a sham, hiding rumors of infidelity and betrayal. Beyonce's sister, Solange, then violently lashed out at Jay Z in a New York hotel elevator after the Met Ball.

The incident was caught on the elevator's security camera, and the video was later “leaked” to the press. From then on it was a field day for celebrity media and also for Beyonce and Jay Z's concert, which, as Beyonce's father so eloquently put it, “went up.” The scandal drove people into buying tickets, thinking that this was their last chance to see Beyonce and Jay performing together on stage.

Also, many hoped to catch glimpses of a certain act or gesture on stage, that would give away the fact Beyonce and Jay hated each other in reality. All of this meant more money for Beyonce and Jay, who have remained silent through all of this and have maintained that they are a happy couple still.
