Over the weekend, Beyonce made her comeback to live performing with a 4-concert event in Atlantic City, New Jersey. While on stage, she told fans she had lost 60 pounds (27.2 kg) to get ready for the event.

Beyonce gave birth to her first child, Blue Ivy, at the beginning of the year but she bounced back to her pre-pregnancy shape in almost no time.

Considering she had to train for this impressive 4-date show, it's no wonder she did.

“Y'all have no idea how hard I worked!” the singer told her fans at the show, People magazine reports.

“I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce! Now tonight I’m gonna get chocolate wasted!” Beyonce added.

The two videos below, embedded at the end of the article, will confirm that she's not telling lies: she really did work very hard to prepare for her stage comeback, which turned out to be more challenging than she initially estimated.

“What I’m trying to say in the show is, 'Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you’,” she tells her people in the first clip about her goal with the show.

In previous interview too, Beyonce credited her comeback with helping her bounce back in shape, saying there was really no “secret” to her weight loss other than discipline.

As it happens, she's a very active person and having to go back in the studio to rehearse choreography really helped her a lot too.

“I've been working really hard. I've been rehearsing, I have a show coming up and it's my first show in a year. There are no secrets. Discipline!” she said, adding that she'd been “dancing, eight hours, nine hours a day.”

“I lost most of my weight from breastfeeding and I encourage women to do it; it's just so good for the baby and good for yourself,” Beyonce said in another interview.

“I counted calories. I worked out maybe three to four times a week. I did a lot walking in the beginning and now I'm running. But I had to work my way up. I couldn't just go right from being pregnant to running,” she explained.

Whatever her method for weight loss, it worked and Beyonce shed the extra pounds the healthy way.
