Ever since she married Jay-Z – and perhaps some time before that – Beyonce has been on what is known as the celebrity baby / pregnancy watch. Cue to the paparazzi again, because she’s just admitted to Piers Morgan she wants to have a child when she’s 30.

The singer is now 29 and is counting down the days to her 30th birthday, which means she’s probably thinking about nursery and other baby-related stuff right now.

Sitting down with Morgan to talk about her latest album, “4” and what it’s like to be one of the most successful and critically acclaimed female singers ever, Beyonce also dropped the baby bomb, as the video below will confirm.

“I always said I’d have a baby at 30. I’m 29,” she tells the CNN host, as he’s trying to work up the courage to ask her about baby plans she and Jay-Z may have.

Nevertheless, there’s a catch. “But I also said I was going to retire at 30. I’m not retiring,” Beyonce says with a mischievous laugh.

Pressed for details, the singer offers only a vague, non-committal answer. “Only God knows,” she says.

Before that, though, Beyonce showed how she felt about turning 30: contrary to how many other women feel about the dreaded turning point in their life, the singer is actually thrilled about it.

“I feel like 30 is the ideal age, because you’re mature enough to know who you are and have your boundaries and your standards and not be afraid or too polite, but young enough to be a young woman,” she says.

Turning 30 is the precise moment when she becomes a woman, she says.

“I’m so looking forward to it,” she adds. The expression on her face doesn’t allow anyone to doubt the sincerity of her words.

Check out the video below to hear Beyonce talk about baby plans and the ever-present issue of age in showbiz. Her album “4” arrives in stores today.
