Just before the Presidential Inauguration 2013, the White House was forced to consider and then pull a petition asking for Beyonce to be disinvited from the ceremony because of her lucrative Pepsi contract. Above is her rousing rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.”

Dressed in a very conservative black dress but looking as gorgeous as ever, Beyonce did justice to the National Anthem, refraining from adding to it too many embellishments but investing in it lots of emotion, genuine feeling.

The ABC correspondent notes that she removed her earpiece because she was having some audio issues. If she was, you can’t tell that by the way she performed.

As fans must already know, this is the second time Beyonce performs at a Presidential Inauguration: in 2009, she sang Etta James’ “At Last.”
