Few other women in the industry right now can boast of a figure as “bootylicious” as Beyonce’s, it is being said. Always placing emphasis on curves and not a stick thin silhouette, the “Halo” hitmaker is again speaking her mind in a recent interview with Allure magazine, saying she loves her firm curves and would never do anything to jeopardize them.

Of course, this is not the first time that the singer talks about her famous hourglass figure, saying she could never imagine herself otherwise. Though, in the past, she did lose plenty of weight once admittedly with the help of a very strict diet that was more of a detox program, Beyonce is not planning on losing her trademark curves anytime soon. That’s not only because she doesn’t like it when she’s skinny but also because she happy just the way she is, therefore sees no need to change something about herself.

That is not to say, though, that her body doesn’t require a lot of work to look this good. “I always say, ‘I don’t want to lose my curves,’ I like firm curves,” Beyonce says for Allure. Still, curves doesn’t mean fat, so this also translates into regular workouts to make sure she looks her best. “You can never do enough squats, you can never do enough sit-ups. But as far as losing too much weight or building too much muscle... I like for women to look feminine,” the singer adds.

In previous interviews, when talking about how much work goes into looking this good, aside from the many hours spent rehearsing dance routines, which also burns plenty of calories, Beyonce spoke against the “gym look,” saying women need to be feminine. At the same time, she stressed the importance of understanding that one’s body should be as it should be, that is to say, of acceptance. Losing weight is also a mental thing and would never mean just sweating at the gym.

“If you look like you’ve been spending a lot of time in the gym, then it just looks like you spend a lot of time in the gym. I feel best when I’m not really thin and not really heavy – when I’m still curvy. I really believe that everyone is supposed to be different, and whatever is a natural weight for you is usually what looks best. I never want to get to that point where it’s not natural. […] I think it’s important to feel like a woman, as well as look like a woman. The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice,” Beyonce was saying a while ago.
