This week’s MET Gala 2015 red carpet saw Beyonce steal the thunder in what was, without a doubt, the most revealing dress she’s ever worn: a gorgeous Givenchy creation that was so transparent it looked as if she was wearing bejeweled netting.

Because of the dress, the entire world could get a good look at Beyonce’s insane figure, with voices even saying that she was the thinnest she’s ever been. Her vegan dietician Marco Borges says all it took for her to achieve that was agreeing to go vegan for 22 days.

Beyonce goes vegan to lose the pregnancy weight

Borges, who happens to be the same nutritionist that inspired Jennifer Lopez to overhaul her diet to the most amazing results, is now coming out with a book that would help other women (and men) take the vegan challenge.

It’s called “22-Day Revolution” and it proposes going vegan as a challenge for 22 days, which is enough time to develop healthier eating habits. Once the time is up, it’s up to the dieter if they want to continue with it or not, but the hope is that, much like Beyonce, they will.

Speaking of Queen Bey, she didn’t lose the 65 pounds (29.5 kg) in just 22 days, as she explains in the foreword to the book, as reported by People Magazine: she went on the diet in November 2013 when she was still carrying some pregnancy weight.

Because she was a mother now, she didn’t want to do something drastic like a crash diet because she didn’t want to run any risks where her health was concerned. Beyonce had previously lost a lot of weight by doing the Master Cleanse, which implies drinking lots of lemon water with maple syrup and cayenne pepper, and no actual food.

When she crossed paths with Borges and he proposed to her going vegan for 22 days, she agreed. She also got husband Jay Z to do it, so the transition would be easier on both.

“If a Houston-born foodie like me can do it, you can too.”

To this day, Beyonce swears by the vegan lifestyle, saying she never imagined she would get to feel this good and be this healthy by simply cutting out foods that were “silently sabotaging” her health.

She’s always been a foodie whose weight oscillated because of it, and she had had trouble before keeping the pounds she’d shed off. Perhaps worse, she could feel her body cracking under the pressure of unhealthy eating and yo-yo dieting.

Beyonce says it was difficult for her to go vegan because she used to be a huge foodie / meat-eater, but if she could do it, she has confidence everybody else will be able to do it too. Success is guaranteed and there will be no regrets looking back.

“We celebrated my husband’s birthday with an all-vegan party,” she writes in the foreword. “I can still see the reaction on our friends’ faces. Some were extremely excited while others had some reservations, but in the end, we all enjoyed it immensely.”
