14 DAY TRIAL // When Kim Kardashian started dating current fiancé Kanye West, celebrity pundits wondered whether she would instantly become A-list and get to hang out with the likes of Beyonce and Jay Z. Clearly, there was nothing Kim wanted in this world but to call the pop diva her best friend, or BFF, the term preferred in showbiz.
It still hasn’t happened, a new report indicates. Earlier this month, the two were photographed leaving the same dermatologist’s office in Los Angeles but, Radar Online says, they hadn’t bonded over a girls’ outing. In fact, the meeting was 100 percent accidental.
It was also super awkward and, we assume, very embarrassing for Kim because Beyonce pretty much snubbed her. The reality star was already inside when Beyonce walked in and she naturally went over to say hello.
“She seemed so excited to see Beyonce and was really eagerly going over to her,” says a spy. “But Beyonce looked like she wanted nothing to do with Kim and was really trying to stay away from her. Kim was basically fawning all over her!”
Granted, you can blame Kim for being over-enthusiastic but she probably thought this was her chance to finally be friends with Beyonce. Meanwhile, the latter couldn’t be bothered.
As if all this weren’t awkward enough, sources say things got even worse as the minutes went by. At one point, Beyonce asked Kim about her daughter with Kanye, North (aka Nori), and Kim again mistook that for a token of friendship, so she started gushing about how wonderful Nori was.
She must have thought she could bond with Beyonce over motherhood, since the diva also has a baby girl with husband Jay Z, Blue Ivy.
“Beyonce looked like she couldn’t have cared less … It seemed so clear that she did not want to talk with Kim and was just being polite to her. They really didn’t look at all like friends,” says an insider.
Kim got the message after this, and stopped trying. She and Beyonce left separately, the report notes.
As Kim’s wedding day is approaching, rumors are picking up that one of the couples who will not travel to Paris to see her and Kanye say their “I Dos” will be Beyonce and Jay because Bey is averse to Kim’s idea of branding.
She and Jay are always striving to keep the media out of their private life, whereas Kim makes a living off the exposure. Admittedly, Beyonce has long come to the conclusion that, if she and Jay went to the wedding, Kim would practically sell them out to the tabloids – and she doesn’t want that.
