The people have spoken: the full list of nominations for the upcoming People's Choice Awards, the 2012 edition, has been made public. All nominees made the cut after being voted by fans.

The awards, held each year at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles in January, is a marker of what the audiences like, regardless of what critics have to say.

They are, if you will, the exact opposite of the Oscars and other similar galas, in that it's audiences who decide who makes the cut and who ultimately wins.

This year, the big winners seem to be Beyonce and Katy Perry, who managed to land the most nominations: Bey has 5 nods in the music category, while Katy Perry has 5 in music and 2 in unrelated categories, coming on top with a total of 7.

Since People's Choice Awards means to celebrate achievement in all areas of showbiz, music is only one of the many categories considered: there's also film and television, the latter including both scripted programs and daytime talk shows.

In film and TV, vampires seem to still be favorites, but one notable absentee is “The Twilight Saga,” as opposed to what happened last year, when it was crowned the movie of the year.

However, that's down to a technicality and not to the fact that the vampire saga is losing its grip with fans: “Breaking Dawn Part 1,” the latest installment, doesn't arrive in theaters until November 18, which means it missed the mark on the nominations.

Even so, leading man Robert Pattison still earned a nod for Favorite Movie Actor, a category in which he goes up against Daniel Radcliffe of “Harry Potter,” Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and Johnny Depp.

As noted above, vampires and the undead are also favorites in TV, with “The Vampire Diaries” and “Supernatural” getting nominations for Favorite Network TV Drama.

Also running in the same category are “The Good Wife,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “House.”
