Tour could end early as tensions backstage hit unprecedented high

Beyonce and Jay Z’s current tour, On the Run, has only 4 remaining dates, 2 in San Francisco this month and 2 in Paris in September, but fans who have bought tickets for the shows might never get to see their idols: there’s serious talk of canceling the tour in the ongoing divorce drama.

Page Six claims to have it on very good authority that music’s most powerful couple is living out its final moments and that, regardless of the happy façade they put on during the shows, there is a lot of drama and tensions backstage.

In fact, one insider with the production reveals, there is so much tension that it could very well be that these two superstars won’t wait until the end of the tour to announce their divorce, and they’ll cancel the remaining dates instead.

“This may not make it to San Francisco,” says one such spy. “I’m definitely not sure that they’ll make it to Paris.”

“There are lawyers that have now joined the tour, and they’re not here just to see them perform. They are here to help hash things out,” the insider continues.

So, while Beyonce and Jay may have initially decided to wait until the tour was over to settle all business matters and go public with the announcement, we’re to believe that they recently realized there was no point in pretending anymore.

They have already informed the organizers, including Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and HBO chief Richard Plepler, the report continues. HBO is involved in the tour because it got cameras to travel with the couple with the goal of shooting a new concert film, which will air in September.

“[They called the meeting before] this becomes a public-relations nightmare. Rapino is [upset] that everything is so out in the open and things are so heated,” a second spy tells the publication.

Things are heated in the media and in the blogosphere, but also behind closed doors: Jay Z and Beyonce are in such a bad place right now that they’re staying in different rooms, in different hotels. The only time they’re together these days is on stage because they arrive at and leave the venue separately.

Trouble began in May this year, when Beyonce’s sister, Solange, told her of Jay Z’s many infidelities. She already had an idea about them but no confirmation: this is why, when Solange started kicking and punching Jay in an elevator after a MET Gala party, she stood by watching.

With the video of the altercation leaking online, the first crack in their joint public image appeared. Many followed soon, which brings us to this new report, claiming that the divorce drama might prevent the tour from wrapping up as scheduled.
