Either Beyonce is dropping hints that she’s planning on taking some time out from touring and recording music to have a baby with husband Jay-Z, or she’s ready to enter a new phase, creatively speaking. What is certain is that, in a recent interview, the star announced that she had killed Sasha Fierce, her latest alter-ego, and that she was thinking on focusing more on her personal life for a while, MTV News informs.

Sasha Fierce is, as fans must know, the alter-ego Beyonce came up with for the album named “I Am… Sasha Fierce.” It wasn’t just a whim of being called differently either, as Miss Fierce was precisely what we understand by the term of an alter-ego, bringing to the table new stage costumes, an entirely different and much more daring attitude, more energetic dance moves and fiery shows. In other words, Sacha Fierce brought the fierceness.

“The music world is in mourning over the passing of Sasha Fierce. There’s no need to worry, as Beyonce Knowles herself is totally fine. However, the persona that she assumed on stage and featured on her last album I Am... Sasha Fierce is officially gone. ‘Sasha Fierce is done,’ she told Extra host AJ Calloway. ‘I killed her.’ It’s not that Fierce hadn’t served her purpose, as she provided Beyonce an unhinged alter-ego through which she could channel some of her most provocative dance moves and electric performances,” MTV News writes.

“Over the course of nearly a year, Beyonce has channeled Fierce in over 100 concerts on six continents and played numerous television performances (including the Grammys and the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards). Interestingly, Beyonce also told Extra that now that she was off the road, she was going to focus on ‘learning to paint and cook, and to do Broadway shows and museums. And learn just to be at home and just watch television.’ She even welcomed the idea of children with husband and fellow worldwide phenomenon Jay-Z. ‘Eventually,’ she said. ‘When it happens, it happens’.” the music e-zine further says.

Though this is not the first time that Beyonce talks of wanting to settle down and perhaps have a baby, the fact that she made this announcement precisely at the end of her tour is seen by many as a clear indication that she’s finally going to do it. Just like other successful singers before her (Christina Aguilera or Jennifer Lopez, for instance), Beyonce could go on a 2-year break to start a family. Then again, she could also be taking a well-deserved break, only to return with a stage persona that can top the now-defunct Sasha Fierce.
