While other stars are happily burning through their hard-earned dollars, at the same time showing the rest of the world that it doesn’t get any glitzier or more glamorous than this, Beyonce is thinking of her future first. Instead of spending her money on trivia that would help her look and feel like a diva, the singer chooses to invest her money wisely with tomorrow in her mind, according to her own words.

Although Beyonce is always the utmost image of style, elegance and luxury, she is not really that much of a spender, she tells the British publication The Mirror. It’s precisely because she has that much money that she’s not willing to see it all slip through her fingers, as it happened to many other celebrities before her. So, she invests and plans for the future.

“Honestly, I’m very frugal [about spending]. I haven’t bought a car since I was 16 or any diamonds since I was 17.” Beyonce tells the aforementioned publication. “I have a lot of property. I’ve invested my money and I don’t have to make any more, thank God, because I’m set. I’m now able really to be free and just do things that make me happy.” the singer further explains.

When asked why she’s on such a tight budget when she could have anything her heart desired, Beyonce says that this is exactly the reason for her attitude towards money. In this industry, she says, it’s very easy to get carried away and not few are the cases of celebrities who also had it all and then lost it almost in a blink of an eye. Clearly, that is not an option for Beyonce, which is why she’s always thinking of her future first.

“I want to have a long career, be respected and not go off track. It’s an effort to stay grounded.” Beyonce explains for The Mirror. The 27-year-old singer and actress has an estimated net fortune of $315 million: with that much money, it’s no wonder she’s playing it safe.
