So, with the all the criticism mixed with positive reviews, 'B' Day' is doing remarkably well. I guess who said that controversy sells better than anything else knew what he/she was talking about. Not that there's anything controversial in the basic sense of the word on Beyonce's second album, but all the haters failed to bring her down.
Instead, by speaking that bad of her (including her live performances, music and videos), all they did was encourage the sale of the album even more as compared to praising it. So, in musical 'retaliation', Beyonce just launched the third single from her second material, called 'Irreplaceable'. With a video, too...
Personally, I'm not a fan of hers and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to something new that she puts out there. Therefore, I will not say that 'Irreplaceable' is the ultimate experience in music, but I will admit to being one of the best tracks I have heard in this past year.
It clearly shows that Beyonce, as an artist (she is among the few who can be called that and not feel bad for doing it afterwards), has really grown and that her voice has matured and reached a peaking point in her career. What more can I say, the song is good, very good, and it should be worth your attention.
As for the video, maybe she could have done better, in the sense that it's not outstanding (I'm not saying that it's bad) but, if that was the way she wanted it, it's fine with me. All in all, 'Irreplaceable' was said by many to be the best track from 'B' Day'. So, spare a couple of minutes and click
