The series of outrageous comments from Beyonce Knowles continues. It is now a known and somehow confirmed fact that the 'Irreplaceable' singer is jealous that her thunder in the 'Dreamgirls' musical is being stolen by newcomer Jennifer Hudson and maybe that is why her words when she talks to the press are so full of vanity.
Although no one disputed Beyonce's musical or acting talent, several sources claim that she is furious over how Hudson (who plays only a secondary part in the film) is already generating Oscar buzz, when she should have been the main star of the show from the very beginning.
In an attempt to cool down the media scandal, Beyonce spoke last week at the premiere of the star-studded musical but either her words came out wrong or they were misinterpreted, because she still came off as jealous and full of grudge against Hudson. '[I] knew that the character that I played wasn't the star... I'm already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing', Beyonce said in reference to Jennifer and her onscreen persona, Effie.
This week, in an interview with 'Vanity Fair' Magazine, Miss Knowles continues in the same line of modesty, by saying that she almost did not get the part in the movie, because her voice was actually above the standards the producers asked for. She had to sing below her range, to undermine her own performance for the movie, she says.
'My usual performance style - the energy and the dancing and my growling - is the complete opposite of Deena. They didn't know if I could be understated, and if I could play the part, basically. Vocally, I had to completely hold back, I had to whisper things.', the diva told the mag, again sparkling rumors about a rivalry between her and her much less experienced co-star Hudson.
