14 DAY TRIAL // It’s not even Thanksgiving, but Beyonce is already getting in the mood for Christmas. Because that also means sharing and spreading the joy, she’s treating her loyal BeyHive to a brand new video, which plays out like a cool, fun compilation of homemade videos.
Yes, some twerking is also thrown in there for good measure – and if we’re to compare, we might as well point out that Bey is giving Iggy and JLo, Rihanna and every other famous twerker out there a run for their money.
The video, released just a few hours ago, is for the song “7/11” and is available in full and in HD below. It’s basically a compilation of videos Beyonce and her female backup dancers shot over what feels like a longer span of time, in various hotels.
Even daughter Blue Ivy makes a very short cameo, but you might miss it if you blink. Watch carefully right before the 1-minute mark.
The video looks like something every girl and her girlfriends would do if she had Beyonce’s money, time, and dance skills. It’s fun, it’s funny, and it feels natural, spontaneous, which it probably wasn’t. You don’t get to become the biggest female entertainer in the world by being spontaneous, not planning everything ahead, down to the last detail.
As of the time of writing, the video has over 1.1 million views and it’s sparked quite a conversation online on whether Beyonce is compromising her art by twerking and showing her fun side to the world. Apparently, there are people who believe she should strive to be more like diva Whitney Houston, instead of “lowering” herself like Rihanna and Miley Cyrus, who have made twerking their signature move.
