Beyonce Dons the $1,590 YSL Metallic Caged Boots

With spring in full bloom and summer just around the corner, the fashion industry has found the most original way of sticking to cold season-type of shoes, while also allowing the foot to breathe properly and, at the same time, look very futuristically trendy. Rihanna, always the one to set a trend, was the first to don a pair of these amazing boots that are not even available in most stores yet. Ciara soon followed suit, with Beyonce being the latest to show off her enviable accessory during a recent “casual” outing in Vienna. Matched with a similarly glitzy chain belt, ripped calf-length jeans, a sheer top and a trilby hat, the YSL boots did not fail to get the attention of fashion insiders, who are now applauding the pop diva for her inspired choice.

If we’re to believe what they say in the media, the latest YSL creation is in fact so hot and sought after that celebrities and fashionistas alike have “joined a long waiting list to get their hands on a pair when the first went on sale last month,” as the British Daily Mail explains. In all fairness, because of its architectural and futuristic design, the YSL caged boots are not yet seen on everyone, so it’s only understandable why stars would rush to get their hands on a pair before they reach all stores.

Not that they would be running any risk even then, it has been pointed out. Even when the boots become available in all major stores, most women will probably not be able to afford them since they are way above the “expensive” limit, coming with a price tag that is explained both by the powerful name of the brand and by the extreme attention to detail that goes into making one such pair. As the photos show, even the heel has the same “caged effect” as the entire shoe.

What’s more interesting though is that, unlike other pricey shoes, the YSL caged boots are not at all a nightmare to walk in. As fashion insiders put it, they will make your foot look imprisoned but they won’t feel like that at all because they’re made entirely of patent leather. Because they’re neither too high nor too narrow to alter your balance, the heels are said to be ideal for a day out on the town, if you’re looking to dazzle your friends with your latest accessory and granted you can afford it.
