Diva tried to dazzle fans with her insane figure, failed

Ask anyone and they will tell you that Beyonce is the closest thing to the “perfect” woman: she’s a very talented and successful singer and songwriter, an actress, a business woman, a model and a role model, a mother and wife, the complete package. To boot, she’s got a killer figure.

So, why would she ever feel the need to deceive her millions of fans, known collectively as the BeyHive? Why would she lie about anything, including how she looks in real life?

The diva got busted once more for Photoshopping the photos she tried to pass off on her social media for candids – and she’s getting mercilessly called out for it.

Beyonce the feminist campaigns for variety in beauty

The other day, Beyonce posted a photo of herself in a dress shirt that she had pulled back, making it look as if she was wearing a swimsuit. The dress in question comes with a caption that is a reference to Jay Z’s his song “99 Problems,” replacing the B-word in the line “I got 99 problems but a [B-word] ain’t one,” with a synonym of “butt.”

The message of the photo was clear: Beyonce was proud of her curves, was proud that she was thicker than stick-thin models, and by saying it out loud, she was encouraging other women of similar shapes and sizes to do the same.

For years now, Beyonce has been campaigning for body diversity, saying that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and that real beauty shines from the inside. A strong, confident, accomplished woman is a beautiful woman, that is what she’s been saying all along not just directly in various interviews, but also in her music and every product she's put out.

So, what happens to this message when Beyonce is busted that she too caves under pressure to look a certain way and has her photos retouched? Even worse, she has even those she’s trying to pass off as candids retouched to make her look better?

As you can see in the first photo in the gallery, the telltale sign of Photoshop is in the lines of the curtains behind her. Some of those lines are straight, where the pics haven’t been retouched, but some are slightly curved – in those places where she had her curves made bigger or other parts of the body made to look smaller than they are.

As the other photos in the gallery show, this isn’t the first time she’s done it either. In fact, these days, Beyonce is proving consistent in her habit of having her photos Photoshopped, so that she appears slimmer but more curvaceous.

Whether she’s giving herself a model thigh gap (which we all know she doesn’t have), making her thighs and her waistline smaller, or adding some “volume” to her breasts and hips, Beyonce’s biggest mistake is that she’s still trying to sell an image of herself of “I woke up like this.”

Photoshopping photos is a common occurrence these days, so few people still take offense when they see them on social media, especially with celebrities as big as Beyonce. However, few other stars (and none of her caliber) post them and try to pretend like they’re candids – and that’s what’s really frustrating about the whole situation.
