Could this be a strikeout for the singer?

We can all agree that bangs are so 2007, but for some reason many women, including celebrities, are still trying to rock that hairstyle that has become synonymous in women with what the mullet is for men. Seriously, there was a time you couldn't go outside and walk more than two steps without running into some woman with bangs.

Beyonce now seems determined to bring back the dreaded bangs craze, albeit, with a little twist to it. The singer was spotted in London yesterday with a new hairstyle that can only be described as a mini-bang, the kind Bettie Page wore, only shorter.

Usually flawless, Beyonce shocks paparazzi in London with an unflattering new hairstyle

The new ‘do isn't something we'd call flattering for Beyonce, but the usually flawless style icon seems bent on making it work. Her blond bangs didn't cover all of her forehead, they just went down several inches from her hairline, making her look … well, goofy would be the best word to describe her.

With half of her forehead covered in hair and the other half exposed, Beyonce stepped out in London and the paparazzi went mad because Bey isn't known for doing radical things to her hair, let alone one that would make her look unflattering.

Fans have spoken: Beyonce's new 'do isn't something they'd want

Us Weekly decided to have a poll amongst its readers, trying to determine if Beyonce's new look was a good one for her, but the public gave it's unequivocal response: it does not. The poll determined with an overwhelming majority (98% of the votes) that Beyonce's new hairstyle did not suit her and she should change it.

This is really unusual for Beyonce, who is, most of the times, a style icon and rarely does such a big mistake when it comes to her looks. But even the best of us get our off days. The only question now is what was Beyonce thinking when she decided to go out like that?

Last week, Beyonce and her family were spotted in Paris, and there, the singer maintained a flawless look, capturing the attention of the paparazzi for all the right reasons. It wasn't the same thing when she came to London, sadly.

Let's hope Beyonce's new half-bangs style doesn't catch on and that women from across the globe don't start wearing their hair in similar fashion. We're not sure that that even qualifies as bangs, it's more like something the hairstylist forgot to chop off.
