Too much leather, too much skin for a family show, voices online are saying

Beyonce did not disappoint with her Halftime performance at the Super Bowl 2013 the other night but, as the saying goes, you can’t please everybody. Voices are now saying her outfit was a bit too revealing for the occasion.

As we also reported the other day, Bey’s Super Bowl performance stood out for various reasons: first of all it was fierce; secondly, it brought her and Michelle and Kelly together again; thirdly, it was so hot that it caused the power outage at the Superdome.

That last part is a joke, obviously.

Now, people are making a ruckus online because of what Beyonce chose to wear: a tiny leather outfit, which combined lace and nude panels to create the impression of cut-outs, accessorized with high heels and over the knee black socks.

While it was tame compared to what other performers are wearing on stage, not few are those who actually think that Beyonce should have dressed more conservatively, the Daily Mail reports, citing online sources.

The forums are filled with comments from people who think the singer (and her Destiny’s Child girls as well) was dressed too skimpily for an event of this magnitude.

Some even say this was a “family” event and so it was embarrassing to see her strutting her stuff on stage like that, like conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham.

“Very family-friendly dancing S&M by Beyonce. What every girl shd aspire to. #waronwomen,” she tweeted during the show, as cited by the same British publication.

She’s not alone in thinking – and saying – these things.

However, if you consider what other pop stars don on stage, Beyonce’s outfit by New York-based designer Rubin Singer was actually mild, especially since she wasn’t really showing skin – only the impression of it.

What do you think? Was Beyonce’s outfit too much or are people saying this just looking for reasons to feel offended?
