Beyonce and Jay-Z have decided on who will be the godparents of their first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, born at the beginning of the month. The godmother, several reports indicate, will be none other than Oprah herself.

Blue Ivy Carter is already famous in her own right, even becoming, a few days after she was born, the youngest recording artist to break into the Billboard charts, thanks to a “duet” with her rapper daddy called “Glory.”

As, such, it's no wonder fans at home and the tabloid media is already speculating on who Beyonce and Jay-Z will pick as godparents.

MediaTakeOut and Radar Online believe they have the answer.

“As if the newborn daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z didn’t have enough going for her come Christmas time, word has it that she’s about to get a golden godmother: talk show icon Oprah Winfrey,” Radar writes.

At the same time, MediaTakeOut claims the couple have already spoken to Oprah – but it doesn't say whether she agreed or not.

Apparently, Beyonce feels very “close” to Oprah, which explains why she wants to have her as spiritual parent to her first born.

“Jay-Z’s pal, Tyran 'Ty Ty' Smith, is Blue’s godfather, [MediaTakeOut] reports, noting the power couple wanted to make sure their godparents weren’t blood-related,” Radar writes.

Indeed, it would seem that Blue Ivy, though barely a few weeks old, is already living an enchanted life.

Before she was born, the tabloids were going head over heels with details of the amazing, one of a kind and very expensive gifts she got from her parents and her parents' friends.

Bey and Jay had reportedly spent an impressive $1.5 million (€1.17 million) on toys alone, including $600,00 (€467,654) on a solid gold rocking horse.

However, in her first interview since birth, Beyonce insisted that Blue Ivy would get a life as normal as possible, which also means not being spoiled rotten.

“At home, she'll be part of a normal, loving family with a loving mom, a loving dad, a loving aunt and loving grandparents, just like any other kid,” she said, as we also reported at the time.
