Singer puts on fiery performance

The say Beyonce is not only one of the most talented singers of our times, but the most accomplished performer as well. Judging by her fiery performance at this year’s MTV European Music Awards, where she did a medley of her “Sweet Dreams” and other recent hits, no one needs to ask why that comes to be, The Examiner points out.

One thing that is certain every time that Beyonce is announced as part of a lineup of performers at an event, be it music awards ceremony or not, is that she will work the floor like no one else. The same also happened just hours ago at the EMAs, where B put on a genuine spectacle of lights, dancing, impeccable singing… and lots of red, with military and boudoir accents.

“Grammy winning recording artist Beyonce Knowles struck more than the right pose this week, proving a highlight at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. Hosted by Katy Perry and staged at the O2 Arena in Berlin, Germany, the Versace-clad Knowles belted out a [wonderful] rendition of her latest single, ‘Sweet Dreams’,” Examiner writes, labeling the entire performance “seriously fierce.”

What this time Beyonce did different from past occasions when she also performed live was that, instead of relying heavily on singing, she made dancing the central point of this particular performance. In fact, some argue, she barely sang at all when compared to, say, her take on “Single Ladies” at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Instead, she chose to tease the audience (for lack of a better term) with her impressive vocals instead of singing the song, some believe – and that went just wonderfully with the entire boudoir motif of the performance.

All in all, Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams” was, as expected, one of the highlights of the night. Check out the video below (of somewhat dubious quality) to see exactly why. Enjoy.
