Another big name has been attached to the official lineup for the Michael Jackson tribute, Michael Forever that will take place at the beginning of October. Beyonce is among the performers that will pay tribute to the late King of Pop, though she will only be able to do so via satellite.

Though plagued by controversy, the tribute will go ahead as planned. Some family members and millions of fans continue to urge organizers to put it off until Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial ends, they remain unmoved by their pleas.

The official lineup was revealed two weeks ago and, as several media outlets pointed out at the time, it was a bit disappointing in that it did not include only “the world’s greatest performing artists,” as Global Live Events promised it would.

The addition of Beyonce will probably make up for that. Promoters have taken to Facebook to announce the addition, Radar Online informs – and to stress that it was Beyonce who specifically wanted to be a part of the show.

“BEYONCE Beams Into Michael Forever Tribute!! A unique, never-before-seen performance by Beyonce of one of her favorite Jackson 5 songs will be shown at the concert on October 8th!” the organizers write.

However, scheduling issues prevent Beyonce from being at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, so promoters had to come up with another way to make her performance available to the fans who will buy tickets.

“A lifelong Michael fan, Beyonce really wanted to be involved in this tribute concert. Due to scheduling issues she can’t be there in person, but this performance is not to be missed!” Global Live Events writes.

Beyonce’s performance will air via satellite.

While Beyonce’s participation should come as great news to fans (who also have Christina Aguilera and Leona Lewis’ gigs to look forward to), it does little to distract the attention from the fact that the Jackson family is “at war” over the tribute concert.

Some family members believe that no such tribute should be organized until Dr. Murray’s trial ends, because it shifts the focus from finding the culprit in Michael’s death to the all-star event.
