Named by one of the most recent issues of People the world's most beautiful woman, Beyonce is now telling the magazine that she firmly believes that real beauty comes from inside – and that she's trying to teach her daughter that too.

The singer gave birth to Blue Ivy at the beginning of the year and she's already thinking about the message she wants to send her as regards good looks – or lack thereof.

Speaking to People, Beyonce underlines that she doesn't place too much emphasis on makeup in her everyday life, but she admits that image is very important to her because of her career.

However, she knows that it's not the only thing that should matter in life, so she wants Blue to know it too.

“My biggest thing is to teach [Blue] not to focus on the aesthetic. It’s really about who you are, and the human being, that makes you beautiful,” the stunning singer shares.

Beyonce grew up around her mother's salon. She recalls she was about 6 when she first applied makeup and she did a very lousy job of it.

In time, though, she learned how to do it herself, so she knows what suits her better than anyone else. Beyonce even cuts her own hair, as hard as that might seem to believe.

“I like to experiment [with my hair]. I love playing around with highlights or bleaching the tips. I can cut and style my own hair. I [recently] just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh,” she says.

Though she's ok with going makeup-free for an entire day, Beyonce wouldn't part with her moisturizer and lipgloss, especially if she thinks paparazzi might track her down and snap her picture.

“Every day in my life is a part of my history, and I’ve worked really hard on my career and my life. So I make sure I wouldn’t be upset if somebody saw me,” she says.

Moisturizer, lipgloss and blush are more than enough for a decent appearance – sometimes, a bit of mascara too.

“I don’t have to spend that much time on my skin. I’m pretty good at throwing out the expired stuff, but I hold on to my mascara for a long time. I actually prefer old mascara. It makes your lashes thicker and longer,” the star reveals.

“I have embraced my flaws. And I feel more confident,” Beyonce adds.
