A spam campaign that’s designed to advertise shady products and services

Fake travel confirmations apparently coming from "SouthWest" Airlines have been seen hitting inboxes in the past few days. The phony emails attempt to trick users into accessing various malicious websites.

The websites can vary from one email to the other, but they’re usually designed to advertise all sorts of shady products and services, Hoax Slayer reports.

Similar to other spam campaigns we’ve seen recently, this one also attempts to reach its goal by giving recipients some good news. Unlike other airline spam campaigns which warn victims that tickets have been purchased with their credit cards, this one claims that the user has been awarded 2 free flights.

To ensure that internauts don’t think about it too much, the emails state that there’s only one day left to claim the prize.

Remember, whether they bring good news or bad news, suspicious airline notifications should be avoided at all costs.
