There are a lot of websites that allow us to publish our videos and movies and then share them with our friends, family or other members of the respective community. You have probably already heard about YouTube, a Google service that is probably the most popular online video sharing solution on the internet, Metacafe and many other similar websites. Many users think that these services are very useful because they can be viewed with ease and without any additional applications.

You should know that some of these websites will require downloading an ActiveX control that can be infected with all kinds of existing threads. Most of these services are offering pornographic content or other illegal material so it's better to avoid visiting these websites.

A McAfee employee posted a message on the official blog to talk about these services and to mention all the aspects that must be avoided in order to protect your system.

"We caution webpage viewers since this malware can be used by a pornographic webpage which calls itself Adult Tuba, whose design pattern matches with the popular video sharing page YouTube in an attempt to deceive users. If users click on any movie links and follow the instructions, they ends up downloading malware, whose detection and removal is covered under the Puper family. We caution all internet users from getting infected by these Video Access ActiveX Object sites found while surfing the web as we continue to protect our customers against such social engineering attacks," Bhaskar Krishna said.

So, if you read this article, don't be afraid to use YouTube or other trusted online video sharing website because you must be sure that Google is doing its best to provide high quality and performance videos without any sign of infected files. Just avoid visiting pornographic websites?
