A few days ago, the leaked Facebook code which was published on the Internet, appeared on a huge number of websites. Although most of them were shut down, others remained up and gathered a lot of traffic and became popular. For example, there were numerous blogs hosted by Google's
Blogger which published the stolen code, but the Mountain View company already started a powerful move to block all of them. TechCrunch informs that FacebookSecrets, a blog that published the leaked code, was shut down by Google after the company demanded the author to remove the posts manually.

The first message informed the owner that he has to delete the Facebook code from the blog due to a DMCA notification. "Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), that content in your blog allegedly infringes upon the copyrights of others. The notice that we received, with any personally identifying information removed, will be posted online by a service called Chilling Effects, and we will send you the link of this notice. We do this in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)."

"We are asking that you please remove the allegedly infringing content in your blog. If you do not do this by end of business tomorrow, 8/15/07, we will be forced to remove the posts in question. If we did not do so, we would be subject to a claim of copyright infringement, regardless of its merits."

Obviously, the owner of the blog didn't remove the posts and Google had to get involved into the problem and delete the Facebook code. After one day, the Mountain View company sent another message to the author that informs him about the removal. "We have had to remove the content mentioned in the complaint from your blog. If we did not do so, we would be subject to a claim of copyright infringement, regardless of its merits."

All the messages sent by Google to the original owner of the blog were published on a new blog hosted by Blogger that was especially created to present the DMCA notifications.
