Not only Windows users have the privilege of running very cool MIDI piano applications. The Mac enthusiasts have now their share of MIDI coolness as the new, improved and very functional Rondo 2.5 has been released and is ready for shipping.

Fractured Software continues the development of the award-winning program Rondo with the 2.5 edition which is now Universal Binary and sports a cool new look while adding to the functional side as well: besides the visual enhancements
the 2.5 brings (such as note columns-scrolling for better adjustment of the working space), there have been included features like note scrubbing - helping you to slow down the music so you can jam along, drag and drop-support for playlists sortable now according to more criteria like Last Played, Play Count, Time, Format, Timebase, NumTracks.

As well, better-sounding, more realistic pianos have been added so the user feels closer to the real thing. Rondo is intended for non-score musicians who will be able to play their fav music following a vertical piano roll while the keyboard remains horizontally positioned as usually.

Direct jumping to any desired bar in the song is possible now as well as playing through an external MIDI device or even by playing a keyboard attached to another computer. Handy features such as looping and tempo control have been added to make your piano experience richer and more rewarding. The users can now easily switch off (or mute) the tracks they don't want in their jam and can fully command the transport of the music by means of buttons like play, pause, fast forward and rewind.

Rondo 2.5 is available as a demo as well but it will randomly deactivate some features each time you use it. As a full program it costs $25; new customers are eligible for free 3.x upgrade while existing customers will update Rondo to 2.5 for free.
