Bethesda seems to be pushing hard to expand across the Atlantic Ocean and, after opening a London-based studio aiming to promote its products in the United Kingdom, the company has now announced that it entered into a developing partnership with the London-based videogames studio called Splash Damage.

Splash is mostly known for developing the interesting Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, which earned the studio a couple of Game of the Year titles and that has spawned the development of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, a squad based game that lets you control either a Terran trooper or a Strogg mutant as they battle for control of the Earth. The team oriented and objective control focused game is currently enjoying a strong following, although it hasn't quite reached the same following as the earlier effort.

Paul Wedgwood, the creative director of Splash Damage, stated that: "Bethesda Softworks has repeatedly been responsible for outstanding games as both publisher and developer. Both of our studios share a passion for creating great games, and we're confident that this partnership will result in even greater experiences for gamers. We're really looking forward to working with Bethesda".

The game project on which they want to collaborate has not been revealed as of yet, but it seems like it will be a massive undertaking, taking into account the fact that the London based Splash Damage studio has nearly doubled its staff in the last few months.

Bethesda Softworks is in no position to undertake significant development duties any time soon, as Fallout 3, the next big game from the creators of the Elder Scrolls, is due out this year and the company is really dedicated to creating a groundbreaking title. So, it might be that Bethesda will offer the creative input for the new title while Splash Damage will be responsible for the actual development work.
