Bethesda has shared its thoughts about the new PS4 and Xbox One consoles, praising their big amount of RAM, while emphasizing that it wants to make a solid surprise announcement for its next title.

Bethesda is one of the most respected video game developers out there, bringing great experiences like Fallout or The Elder Scrolls to many different platforms.

Its next big project is still a secret and, in the meantime, the studio is presenting different titles that it will publish from various developers, like Battlecry or The Evil Within.

While talking with GameStar in a video interview, Bethesda's Todd Howard has explained the studio's philosophy about the next big project, emphasizing that it wants to make a great surprise announcement when it feels like it can impress people.

"We get asked a lot. I sort of tell people that we're figuring things out. We're taking our time. We're extremely excited about it. The reason we're holding back is because we want to wait until it's really there to show it to everybody. We don't want to dribble it out. That moment of learning about something is really good."

Howard has also mentioned that the new PS4 and Xbox One, which both have 8GB of RAM, allow for better performing games on consoles, not just on PC.

"The new systems, the main thing they really have - processing power mostly drives graphics - but the amount of memory makes a huge difference for the kind of games that we make."

He also gave an example about buildings and how there might not be any loading times between exploring the environment and entering a building, like taverns in Skyrim.

"Think about how we store and stream our games. We can just think about a lot more stuff at once, like characters across the world, even if they're not on the screen. If you're wandering around a tavern in Skyrim. In that game, it's clear we haven't loaded what's in the buildings."

"If we have enough memory, it's already loaded when you're near. We can have the sounds from the inside come out. Having that kind of memory, much like a PC like architecture, that's what it will allow us to do."

Bethesda is unlikely to confirm anything at E3 2014 about its major project, which is rumored to be Fallout 4, although it will show off upcoming ones like The Evil Within or maybe even Battlecry.
