Beth Ditto: The World's Most Disgusting Person?

Think shameless and outrageous (hint - it's not Britney) and the image of Beth Ditto ripping off her clothes and exposing her naked body to the audience readily pops into my head. The fact is, I think (I may be wrong, who knows) that I could have led a long, happy and fulfilling existence without learning about how the Gossip singer approaches conflict management and about how she puts into practice sophisticated defense tactics. Kidding. But the fact is, if you have a slightly upset stomach it's best not to jump over to the next paragraph.

Ditto confessed that she once deliberately "puked up" on a group of homophobic boys as payback because they mocked her sexuality. The openly gay Gossip singer was left extremely angry after she was ridiculed by some boys during a boat ride. But leave it to Beth to wipe the smile of your face. Her response? She stuck her fingers down her throat and regurgitating her semi-digested meal all over them. And yes, this manages to make even the word "disgusting" feel inappropriate.

"I once purposefully puked on some homophobic boys on a boat. Looking back, it might not have been the most hygienic or healthy approach, but I considered it a political tactic more than revenge per se, and it certainly was very, very effective!", she boasted, before going on to say that "I'd still say the question - to puke, or not to puke - was up for debate, but it did give me a certain sense of relief, and I can't say I've ever regretted it". I think she forgot to add that it was also a very classy thing to do. Yes, I know, ever since The Exorcist and that pea soup scene no round of puking has ever been the same again.

Beth, you may remember, is no stranger to using her (gross) bodily functions and sexuality to shock. Over the summer, the singer shocked fans at a music festival by flashing her vagina after she hitched her skirt up, pulled down her underwear and threw her pants into the stunned crowd. I somehow feel there's not much I can add to this, so I'll let you have your say, too, and maybe I can somehow manage to get the image of Beth puking out of my mind. Somehow.
