Indie rocker and fashion icon Beth Ditto, aged 29, is ready to start a family. Together with her girlfriend, Ditto has plans to have a baby – and it will happen no later than next year.

Ditto, who has often got media attention for her live shows but also for how outspoken she is, says in a new interview for Marie Claire, as cited by AceShowbiz that she will soon become a mother.

Once her plus-size fashion line is out (the latest collection, that is), she and her girlfriend will effectively focus on starting a family together, this being something they both desperately want.

“I do want to go to the doctor in the next year and start taking it [pregnancy] really seriously... Once these clothing lines are out I can take space and think about the baby,” Ditto explains for the women’s magazine.

Not only is she ready for motherhood, but she’s also positive Kristin, her current partner is “the one,” just like in fairytales. There’s no need to wait for confirmation anymore.

“It was something that I kept hidden deep inside of me. But everyone knew. Even people are parties and clubs would be like, ‘When are they going to get together?’” the rocker explains.

“There was always a little guilt inside of me because I felt I was cheating, but I never cheated. We never did anything. I dated Freddie for nine years, and I was always worried it was going to end,” Ditto adds.

“With Kristin I never worry about it ending, I just feel completely full and whole,” the rocker further says. As such, it’s only logical that they want to start a family together.

Unfortunately, this will probably also mean less time in the spotlight, as Beth focuses on her new family, which fans will certainly not be very happy about.

Ever since she broke in the spotlight, Beth Ditto has been the kind of star that one either loves madly or bitterly hates, it has been said.

She, for one, continues to see her music, her public image and her body as a work of art that she “carries” around with her wherever she goes. And she refuses to let criticism bring her down.
