According to Time's Fortune magazine, Google is the best web company to work for in 2012. The last time Google was on top of the same list was back in 2007, but the company is now back with a vengeance.
Other web companies that scored on Fortune's
Best Companies to Work for in 2012 include a list of famous names, but some new comers have also snuck in.
Best ranked after Google is Zappos.com, 11th on the list, a Nevada-based online shoe and apparel store. Its high ranking is due to the fact that the company also ranked number 2 when it came to health care benefits.
Next is Salesforce.com, 27th on the list, a San Francisco global based software company, specialized in CRM development.
Adobe made it to the list for the 13th consecutive year, ranking 41st, despite recently announcing a 750 employee layoff.
Rackspace made it on number 72, after its employees were rewarded with stock options and a share of the quarter's profits.
Microsoft was also on this year's list, but lost 4 spots compared to 2011, coming only 76th, in spite of paying its employees above the market average, with plenty of additional perks.
Last but not least, GoDaddy.com made the list at 93. In its case, most impressive is that GoDaddy is also part a group of 12 companies from the Top 100 list that have never laid off personnel.
Other notable IT companies, even if not truly Web dedicated, include: Intel (46), AutoDesk (52), Hitachi (86) and Cisco (90).
Pretty impressive indeed, but if you’re looking to work for one of them, you might want to know that not all of them are currently hiring.
Fortune also put together a list of
Top Hiring Companies in 2012, with 700 or more opened jobs. The web companies that made this list are Google, ranked in the top position, Adobe at number 8, Microsoft at 16 and Cisco at 20.
