14 DAY TRIAL // There are plenty of ways to keep your kids busy while on the road or at home if you just need an hour of silence. After all the games are done, you might want to have them watch a good cartoon and sit quiet. The problem is that the cartoons on TV are not always age appropriate.
iTunes Editors are making it easier to find something that will fit your kid's level of understanding. Also you don't need to worry about the TV show's age rating.
The new selection is called "Explore Kids TV Shows by Age," and as you might expect, there are four main age groups: 2 - 4, 5 - 7, 8 - 10 and 11 - 13.
The youngest kids have all the good classic TV shows and some new ones that just showed up in iTunes. Thomas and Friends are here and you can get a whole season for just $5.99 (€4.51). Each of the four episodes is 20 minutes long so you basically pay a mere 7 cents per minute of silence in your house.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Peppa Pig, Babar, Pooh and Tiger are just some of the character that your baby will love until he's four. For older kids (the 5 to 7 year-olds) Tom and Jerry enter the stage. You can get the whole package complete with 20 episodes for $12.99 (€9.78). iTunes provides a preview of each episode, and if you want, you can just get them per episode basis for 99 cents (74 euro cents) each.
Dora the Explorer, Little Einsteins and some good Nickelodeon shows made the list.
If your kid turned 8, the TV shows get even better. You can educate him or her with the Smurfs, Adventure Time or watch together Scooby-Doo's adventures. The latter comes in the form of a whole season. For $49.99 (€37.64) you can get 26 episodes that are 22 minutes long.
When your kid is 11 to 13 years old, well... he's not a kid anymore so you can check out this next collection. This is the time when you would want him to watch a Tron cartoon or Ben 10's Generation Rex. Hannah Montana is here and it's not the Miley Cyrus you see on TV right now. You'll be sure to find something for them to like because there are over 40 TV shows in this category alone.
