Ever wondered how it would be if you could enjoy your favorite TV programs on the mobile phone rather than on TV? The image is small, we know, but for the biggest fans of some TV series, it might prove sufficient for finding out just what happened in the last episode of his favorite TV show.

Disney-ABC Television Group has teamed up with Sprint in order to bring linear video programming and full-length episodes of highly appreciated TV shows right on the devices of mobile phone users. The new partnership will bring all the entertainment that a TV normally provides with little effort coming from the users. All they have to do is own a TV-enabled mobile phone and subscribe for the service.

The video programming content is available either on demand, or on three "linear" mobile channels that offer a continuous program stream. This is actually quite an innovative idea, as it makes possible for anyone to watch episodes of highly rated TV shows, such as "Desperate Housewives", "Grey's Anatomy", "Lost" and "Ugly Betty". Moreover, the Disney Channel has offered its content for entertaining the younger audience.

Aside from these services, Sprint has also included some news programs in order to keep their users informed. These come as linear channels, which is the case of ABC News, but also as on-demand full-length programs, amongst which we count "World News with Charles Gibson" and "Nightline".

"We continue to be focused on finding new ways to connect viewers to the content they want and brands they love on the platforms they choose. This deal not only provides new viewing opportunities for consumers, but also gives advertisers another platform to reach viewers and associate with our powerful network brands", said Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney-ABC Television Group.

Furthermore, Oliver Valente, senior vice president, product management and development for Sprint emphasized the advantages that such a service might bring to its users: "Customers can watch programs at the airport while waiting for their flight, at the office during lunch and in the thousands of other scenarios where people have some down time and want a news or entertainment break. Disney Channel programming is also great to keep the kids occupied in the car and in many other locations."

The entertainment from Disney-ABC Television Group is available on Sprint's Power Vision devices and will be included in the Sprint Power Vision TV Pack for an extra USD 20 monthly subscription. Choosing only the Disney Channel will cost USD 15 every month.
